First Trail Ride of the Season!

I've got some major catching up to do, so here's a photo dump of Pyro and me hitting the Brown County State Park trails with Jen and Disco the Friday before Easter.

This pretty much sums up the day.

Still "can broke". It was nice to be on the more experienced horse for once.

We spent some time leading...
...and some time following.

The following came in handy when we came to water crossings. Disco lent Pyro his confidence.

Taking a quick sip...

and promptly dribbling it on my boot.

"Ahhhh, refreshing"

Calmly chilling in the water

I really appreciated how unworried he was on this last water crossing.

Lol, juggling reins AND social media device through the water.

An easy 4.2mi ride for him. He ended with plenty of gas left in the tank.

Good boys get good carrots

Looking, and WORKING, like a grown up horse.

Our WOW dressage saddle with polys made an awesome trail saddle. I felt like I could ride all day in it. Here's hoping we get to hit the trails many more times this season!

    1. It's definitely one of my favorites, and I think Miss and Pyro agree.

    1. Indeed! And it just came to light last night that Pyro deserves some extra credit for how well behaved he was. I realized I had the wrong gullet plate in that saddle! I had received the correct one and promptly forgot to install it, so he did 4.2 miles with too wide of a headplate!
